In April of 2012, Dr. Stafford will be speaking at the Oregon Dental Conference with  special insights into Pediatric Dentistry through two different courses. Click on the banner above to learn more.

January 17th, the Washington County Dental Society hosted Dr. Stafford as the presenter to area dental professionals and over 40 hygiene students from Pacific University’s School of Dental Health Sciences. She spoke on “Tips & Tricks of a Pediatric Dentist” and offered many ideas that general practitioners could take back to their offices and implement the next day.

In the fall of 2011, Dr. Stafford spoke on “Child Behavior Management Techniques” at the Oregon Oral Health Coalition. Attendees were public health providers interested in decreasing the caries epidemic in Oregon.

Virginia Garcia Memorial Dental Clinic invited Dr. Stafford to present information to a group of dental assistants and dentists on achieving successful treatment and positive interaction with young children and those with special needs.

Dr. Stafford was featured under the Health Check segment of KATU AM Northwest. Check out our “In the Media” page for live video of Dr. Stafford’s interview about the importance of first dental visits and regular check-ups!

The World of Smiles team attended the annual Oregon Dental Conference for continuing education and team development. The team attended three days of classes learning more about pediatric pathology and treatments and new resources coming available for patients and dental offices.

Dr. Stafford and the World of Smiles Team volunteered at Pacific University in February 2011 for Give Kids a Smile Day! What a great way to give back to our community with free dental care for children.

Dr. Stafford and her lead assistant, Savina, volunteered with the Tooth Taxi in January 2011, providing free dental care to children at area schools. This year they worked with the Russell Academy students. The Tooth Taxi travels across the state of Oregon, working with schools to provide dental care for children in need and is supported by the Dental Foundation of Oregon, a non-profit arm of the Oregon Dental Association.

Dr. Stafford and Cindy, our dental educator and assistant, traveled to several schools in 2010 to give classroom presentations. We work with kids all the time and love going into the community to talk to school children about dental care and provide them with free toothbrush kits!

If you would like Cindy to travel to your child’s school to give a dental presentation, please contact her today at education@visitworldofsmiles.com!

Sunset Dance TeamThe World of Smiles Team was proud to sponsor the Sunset High School Dance Team for the 2010-2011 season!

The first annual Oregon Mission of Mercy (OrMOM) event organized by the Oregon Dental Association had thousands of volunteers from across the state providing two intense days of free treatment for adults and children. The World of Smiles Team had an amazingly heartfelt experience and can’t wait to return in 2011!

Did you see Dr. Stafford and Nicholas Peterka at the Cedar Mill Annual Cider Festival last October 2010? We spread our smiles at this amazing local community event. It was a beautiful day!
