Give Kids A Smile!

This Saturday, the Washington County Dental Society member dentists and their assistants and community volunteers, will be partnering with Pacific University’s School of Dental Health Sciences to offer free dental care to children in our community.

World of Smiles, Pediatric Dentistry is excited to participate again for a fourth year and support the dental hygiene students in their goal of providing healthy smiles to happy kids!

February is Dental Health Month!

We’re gearing up for February 2012 – and the Annual Dental Health Month celebrations! We’re celebrating in a big way at World of Smiles, Pediatric Dentistry by participating in Give Kids A Smile Day on February 4th and showcasing our educational tools at NW Family & Kids Festival on Saturday, February 11th and Sunday, February 12th.

Dress Up Week at World of Smiles

For those of us that consider Halloween our own personal dress up day…take note! World of Smiles will be having their annual dress up week from October 24th – October 31st. Each day has a special dress up theme assigned (found on our website calendar) and the staff can’t wait! If your child (or you!!) visit World of Smiles, Pediatric Dentistry dressed up on our theme day, or in their regular Halloween costume, extra toys will come your way!

Please join with us in congratulating Dr. Michelle Peterka Stafford and Nicholas Stafford Peterka on their beautiful wedding! The happy couple recited original vows under a beautiful garden arbor overlooking the Columbia Gorge, and the groom serenaded his wife and intimate wedding gathering with a song he composed for the occasion. Guests and the wedding party found their inner child with a silly hat photo booth and cut up the dance floor into the evening.

A recent article published in Doctor of Dentistry highlighted another health link in the development of cavities in children. A recent study in Sweden found that children and adolescents suffering from asthma are at an increased risk for the development of caries and tooth decay.
