Which Toothpaste should I use for my child?Which Toothpaste should I use for my child? When shopping for toothpaste for your child it can be a challenge to decipher which one to use and what’s important. At World of Smiles we also understand that not all children will like the same flavor. For these reasons we have an easy guide to selecting the right toothpaste and to finding ones with great taste! When looking for the right toothpaste we want each child to use one that age-appropriate. Oral B and Crest have both come out with what are called “stages” toothpaste. The stage offers a great way to select the correct toothpaste for your child’s age by placing the age indicator on the packaging. This corresponds to the correct fluoride dose to topically use on their teeth. In order to select the right flavor of toothpaste it can just be a matter of trial and error until you get it right. There are several great choices in the stores. A popular one is the Tom’s of Main Strawberry toothpaste. It tastes just like a Strawberry smoothie. It is sweet but has the benefit of fluoride to help protect their teeth. If your child does not like any flavor you find at the store, World of Smiles sells toothpaste called Tasty Paste. It comes in three main flavors; Chocolate, Vanilla and Orange Creamsicle. This toothpaste tastes just as it sounds, sweet. But it also contains fluoride to help protect teeth. All other toothpaste mentioned here are available in the stores only the Tasty Paste has to be purchased from a dental office. |
