  • North Portland Office Now Open!

1437332182940Our New North Portland Office is now open!

We are thrilled to announce that our new location in North Portland is now seeing patients!

Located just north of the Mississippi neighborhood on North Albina, the office is conveniently situated near the highway with easy access to public transit. In addition, the office has its own private parking lot! Is has truly been a long process to make this dream a reality! Dr. Michelle Stafford and Dr. Staci Whitman, her partner at the new location, have been working to bring World Of Smiles to North Portland for nearly two years. Once they finally settled on the North Albina location, the entire building needed to be stripped down before the conversion to a fully equipped modern dentistry practice could begin. Adding to the fun was the addition of an elevator!

Dr. Stafford founded the original World Of Smiles on the west side with the mission of partnering with families to provide education and motivation for healthy dental habits. Her practice strives for excellent patient care with a holistic, integrative approach; offering innovative treatment options. The entire team is committed to patient families and inspiring children through a uniquely positive dental experience by creating an atmosphere of imagination, travel and adventure.

Dr. Staci is excited to join this mission and also hopes to engage the neighborhood with outreach, community events, and local sponsorships. The new office will be open 5 days a week and Dr. Stafford will be there once a week in case any patients would like to see her there. The north location will be offering Saturday openings in the fall based on interest, so if you are interested, let us know! Now, let’s learn more about Dr. Staci!

Dr. Anastacia “Staci” Whitman grew up in Holden, Maine, receiving her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Maine and her Dental Degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston. She then went on to additional education in a General Practice Residency at the University of Massachusetts Hospital in Worcester, MA. It was during this residency that she grew to love to work with children and wanted to seek an opportunity to better children’s oral health and attitudes toward their smiles. After visiting friends in Portland, Dr. Staci fell in love with the Pacific Northwest and made the move out west looking for a change of pace and a better lifestyle. She worked as a general dentist for two years before being accepted into Oregon Health and Sciences University (OHSU). There, she completed an additional two years of pediatric dental training, earning a certificate in pediatric dentistry from OHSU.

Dr. Staci became a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry in 2012 and is a Board-Certified Pediatric Dentist. She is also involved in many organized dentistry groups, having served as President of the Oregon Association of Pediatric Dentistry and as a member of the Board in Multnomah Dental Society, as well as an active member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Pediatric Dentistry, and Oregon Dental Association.

When Dr. Staci is not making smiles more beautiful and healthy, she enjoys the amazing outdoor offerings of the Pacific Northwest. She loves to snowboard, run, do yoga, dance, cook, and attend film festivals with her husband, Josiah. In 2013, she welcomed a baby girl into her family, Sloan Marie, and is enjoying all the magic that having a child has to offer. Fearful that the magic might wear off, Dr. Staci went ahead and had another baby!
