We don’t know about you, but the holidays can feel like a mixture of ups and downs, no matter how much we try to keep things exciting for our friends and family. Scored the perfect present for your little one? Up! Snapped at the salesperson after a long day of harrowing driving? Down. Found a long-lost family recipe to showcase at holiday dinner? Up! Realized every night of the week is jam-packed with events and to-do lists? Down.

Managing the roller coaster of emotions and circumstances can make even the most even-tempered parent have a nervous breakdown – so we offer 5 tips to manage the holiday stress as we count down!

Regular Dental Visits = An ounce of prevention!

Tuesday, December 13, 2011 by Michelle Stafford, DDS

You may have heard the old adage, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. In health matters, this folk statement is more than true. Unfortunately, due to economic restraints and “tightening-the-belt” budgeting, our doctors are finding that more and more patients are putting off regular dental care in favor of “when it hurts I’ll fix it!”

Dental care should have a different focus than simply “fixing the broken part” when necessary – akin to the idea of forgoing regular car maintenance and spending more dollars at the pump and mechanic shop when several issues that could have been prevented if caught earlier all combine into one large fix-it bill. Having a healthy mouth and body occurs when families are working toward daily habits of health, including a visit to a health professional regularly.

Sustaining Our Community With a World Focus

Tuesday, December 6, 2011 by Michelle Stafford, DDS

This holiday season, we will be taking that same spirit of community into our office celebrations, encouraging our patient families to learn more about a variety of cultural traditions, including Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, and a history of St. Nicholas and Santa Claus. Join with us in expanding your global perspective on the values and traditions that are experienced around the globe.
